Solid Hard Wood
We can build from almost any wood species
On the following 3 pages are photographs of the woods we can make our products out of. These wood species are commonly known as "Eastern Forest Hardwoods'. Except for the mahogany, all of these woods grow in our home state of Michigan. Most of the wood we use has been harvested locally, off private wood lots. The sawmill we use is about 8 miles from our shop.
We are often asked which is the "best" wood or the "hardest" wood etc. We recommend you pick out the wood that pleases you the most. Our product has been designed to work well with any of the woods we feature. All of these woods have sufficient hardness and strength to hold up under continuous use.
