The E Series is our newest series of desks. This series is the culmination of a 7 year effort to develop a lower priced version of our JS Series desks, without incurring significant trade offs in performance or quality. We achieved this in several ways. The desks are made from oak only, and feature a simpler design with fewer parts. The remaining components have been re-designed to use less material, and optimized to produce less scrap. More efficient use of labor is made with computerized machinery.
Our goals for the E Series also included a "green" replacement for the
polyurethane varnish used on the JS Series. We found this in Tung oil. Unlike
other oxidizing oils, Tung oil does not yellow with age and dries hard. Is easy
to
renew without stripping, and needs only occasional waxing.
Hutch shelves increase the storage capacity of your desk. The hutch shelves in our desks are fully height adjustable. The first shelf can be placed just above your monitor. The second shelf is placed according the height of the items you will be placing on the shelves.
The Model 33EH is our smallest and least expensive hutch shelf desk. It can be used as a companion to a larger, traditional desk, or is a good choice if your space or budget is limited.
